“The Minister of Finance will have other problems, but it is not the Andalusian accent that should be criticized,” believes the spokesman of the Council.
The Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds and spokesperson for the Andalusian government, Carolina España (PP-A), claimed this Tuesday the Andalusian accent that the first vice-president of the government and Minister of Finance, the Sevillian socialist María Jesús Montero, also has and who imitated the Former President of the Community of Madrid Esperanza Aguirre (PP).
“The Minister of Finance will have other problems, but It is not the Andalusian accent that should be criticized“, stressed the Commission’s spokesperson in this regard, questioned by journalists during the press conference after the weekly meeting of the Andalusian Government Council.
Specifically, Carolina España expressed herself in this way when a journalist asked her opinion on the recent statements of the former president of the Community and the PP of Madrid in which Esperanza Aguirre imitated María Jesús Montero’s accent following an intervention by the minister on the agreement between the PSC and the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) for the investiture of the socialist Salvador Illa as president of the Generalitat.
The Andalusian government spokeswoman said she did not know these words of Aguirre, but added that if the journalist who asked her about her said “who made fun of the Andalusian accent” from Minister Montero, she showed “total disagreement” regarding these statements.
In this line, Carolina España said she was “very proud of the Andalusian accent”and concluded by saying that “the Minister of Finance will have other problems, but it is not the Andalusian accent that should be criticized.”
