Judge in Koldo case rejects procedure requested by Vox regarding hiring during pandemic

The judge of the National Court, Ismael Moreno, rejected a series of procedures requested by the popular prosecution of Vox related to the hiring carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. In an order dated September 20, 2014, the magistrate states that the requests, which included demands addressed to the Presidency of the Government for the submission of the minutes of the Councils of Ministers and changes in the procedural situation of several witnesses, They are unacceptable and add no value to the cause.

Vox filed a brief on September 19, requesting, among other things, access to key documents related to the management of the health crisis, as well as the change in status of Daniel Belmar Prieto, as a witness on which it investigation. However, the judge stressed that this request could transform the proceedings into a general case on the supply prices during the pandemicwhich is not permitted in current legislation.

The magistrate also rejected the request from the General Sub-Directorate of Economy and Asset Management to send contract file number 20V019, arguing that This information had already been collected during previous procedures. Similarly, requests for witness statements were denied on the grounds that they would not provide new or relevant information to the case.

This decision can be appealed within three daysas provided for by law, which leaves open the possibility that Vox will continue its legal fight in search of greater transparency on the decisions taken during the health crisis.
