Judge Pedraz sends the leader of the “Koldo plot” to prison for hydrocarbon fraud

The judge of the National Court Santiago Pedraz decided to send the ringleader to prison Koldo land, Víctor de Aldama in the context of the alleged millionaire fraud for VAT on hydrocarbons. The people arrested as part of the operation on the alleged hydrocarbon fraud were brought this morning before the court of the National Court and the investigating judge accepted the request of the prosecutor Luis Pastor, who requested the prison no deposit for the agent and the obtainer of the Koldo affair. Aldama was arrested last Monday as part of an operation carried out by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of Civil Guard and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. The Treasury estimates the diversion at 182 million euros of irregular profits.

The businessman made a statement before the judge Santiago Pedraz and admitted to having also acted as a commission agent in this type of business, although he dissociated himself from corporate taxation. The rest of the detainees who had been in the cells since last Monday awaiting arraignment were also held accountable before the judge.

Besides Aldama, 13 other people were arrested for VAT fraud. Among them Claudio Rivas Ruiz-Capillas and his sister Maria Luisa Rivas Ruiz-Capillas. They both controlled the company Villafuel SLwhich is investigated in the plot. The sources of the investigation indicate to OKDIARIO that the businessman Claudio Rivas would have used Aldama’s contacts to obtain contracts in which taxes were evaded. In fact, Rivas even sponsored the Zamora football club, chaired by Aldama.

They also stopped a businessman from Salamanca related to research. This man controlled the company Salamanca Fuel Center, who also allegedly took funds from the land. UCO investigators searched the headquarters of this company as well as around ten properties last Monday. The locations of the recordings took place in several cities in Spain, including Madrid, Salamanca and Cáceres.

Víctor de Aldama is also the main agent of the Koldo plot. The judge leading the investigation also charged him – previously known to be under investigation – in that case with trying to prove $1 million in bribes in health contracts awarded during the pandemic. The latest UCO report contributed to the synthesis of Koldo affair reveals that the commissioner was a collaborator of the Civil Guard. The name of Víctor de Aldama also appears in the Begoña case, since He met the president’s wife several times and he even participated with her in trips organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The sources consulted point to Aldama as the link between Begoña Gómez and the president of AirEuropa, Javier Hidalgo.
