Judge Juan Carlos Peinado decided to consider Juan José Güemes, former director of Esperanza Aguirre and director of the Instituto de Empresa, as subject to investigation in the case in which he is investigating Begoña Gómez. The magistrate had called Güemes to testify this Monday to explain why IE hired the wife of the President of the Government and the sources in the file explain that he announced that he would be called to testify later and within the framework of a investigation.
The sources in the file explain that Güemes’ statement was contradictory with that of another witness linked to the Instituto de Empresa and that he shortened his appearance to announce his future summons as accused.
One of the multiple ramifications of the trial that Peinado has been leading for months against Begoña Gómez is linked to his activity at the Africa Center of the Instituto de Empresa (IE) that Gómez began to direct in the summer of 2018. The judge has already asked several witnesses if her hiring was linked to her curriculum vitae or to the fact that she is the wife of the President of the Government. One of the witnesses testified in court that Güemes, director of IE, was the one who pushed for the hiring of Begoña Gómez.
His appearance as a witness did not last long and he left the court without wanting to make statements to journalists. Sources in the case explain to elDiario.es that the judge understood that he had had contradictions with another witness linked to the IE and cut his statement to announce that his next summons will be the one that is the subject of an investigation.
