The Ministry of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Government of Andalusia has resolved the last auction of promissory notes, in which it captured 39.8 million euros. In this last auction, promissory notes of three months to one year were issued. The issuance of these securities is carried out by means of an auction procedure that passes through the Bank of Spain.
As reported in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA), the Junta raised 300,000 euros in three-month promissory notes; five million in half-yearly promissory notes; fifteen million in nine-month promissory notes; and 19.5 million in one-year promissory notes. In the previous auction, the one corresponding to July 2024, the Board captured another close to 40 million euros (38.8 specifically). Four more auctions are still to take place before the end of the year.
Unlike Treasury bonds, the promissory notes of the Junta de Andalucía can only be acquired by financial entities or investment services companies that are members of the Junta de Andalucía. The duration of the program signed on May 29, 1991, was extended by the current government of Juanma Moreno until May 29, 2026. Regarding debt, the Government Council of the Junta de Andalucía recently authorized the Ministry of Economy, Finance and European Funds to carry out debt operations until 3,872.62 million for this year 2024, as indicated in the budget law of the Autonomous Community for this year.
