The Superior Court of Madrid rejected the complaint filed by Máximo Pradera against the revelation of secrets against judge Juan Carlos Peinado, accusing him of having disclosed secret data from the trial he has been leading for months against Begoña Gómez, wife of president of the government. . The prosecution had requested the dismissal of this complaint.
For the judge, the fact that the Court published several press releases on the case while the proceedings were secret does not constitute a crime. “The publication of certain debates without revealing the results does not violate the secrecy of the debates, evolving in the domain of what is public and what is publishable,” believe the judges.
The same court has not yet decided whether or not to admit two complaints against Peinado for which the prosecution requested his indictment: those filed respectively by Pedro Sánchez and Begoña Gómez. Two complaints in which Peinado is accused, among other crimes, of prevarication due to the decisions he made throughout the investigation.
