Azerbaijan’s chief prosecutor, Kamran Aliyev, met with his Russian counterpart, Igor Krasnov.
Oku.Az “Vestnik Kavkaza” reports that at the meeting Krasnov asked his Azerbaijani colleagues to combine the efforts of control and law enforcement agencies in the field of environmental protection.
According to him, Russia welcomes the initiative of the Azerbaijan prosecutor’s office to activate the work of law enforcement agencies in the fight against climate change and highlights the importance in this regard of the COP29 climate conference held in Baku.
“I have no doubt that solving this problem will require the potential of prosecutors’ offices,” said the Prosecutor General of Russia.
He gave an example of cooperation on environmental security between the countries of the Caspian region.
