Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, who participated in the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia, spoke about the case of Karabakh separatists currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
Oku.Az Chief Prosecutor Kamran Aliyev told News.ru that the investigation into these individuals has already been completed and the materials will be submitted to the court in the near future.
“Currently, both the accused and the victims are getting acquainted with the materials of the criminal case. You know that there are many victims in this criminal case. Once all investigative and operational measures have been implemented, the case will be sent to the court for consideration on its merits in accordance with international standards and the criminal legislation of Azerbaijan,” – said the Chief Prosecutor of Azerbaijan.
For information, we will add that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case against 15 separatists and placed them on international search. After the operation in September 2023, they were detained and taken to Baku and handed over for investigation. They were charged with terrorism, financing terrorism, creating illegal armed groups and groups, and conducting training for terrorism. In June this year, Baku announced the completion of the investigation into their case.
