The UN Secretary -General Antonio Gutereris announced his intention to appoint the Senegal diplomat Kassima Diagi with a new specialist and the head of peacekeeping forces in Cyprus. As he said in a letter to the President of the Security Council, Mr. Netianier “replaced Canadian Colin Stuart, who fulfilled his mission,” while Mr. Hurterris expressed “his gratitude for the devotion of Colin Stuart and effective leadership”.
M -N dianier has more than three decades of experience in international relations and occupied higher positions of the UN UN, as well as in the field of maintaining peace in Africa and America.
Currently, he serves as a temporary coordinator of the UN on development and humanitarian issues in Mali. He also held the position of deputy special representative of the secretary in UNOWAS, the deputy of the special representative of Monusco, as well as the director of the Secretary General Office. He has a graduate school in the field of philology (Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar) and international relations (School of Law and Diplomacy Fletcher, Tufts University). He speaks in English, French and Volofov.
According to Kip, the members of the Security Council knew about the intention of the secretary -general for the appointment of a dianier and, as expected, did not express objections.
