With a gold medal and the first place where they return to Greece (that is, the final winners), six high school students from public schools in Northern Greece, who are members of the Paradox team and participated in the international tournament of young naturalists), which was held in Almaty.
Significant discrimination was also received by students from three other Greek teams from 12 groups of five countries who participated in the event of this year, which took place in the campus of the national scientific and practical teacher and the well -being of the Bobek center from August 17.
IYNT is a unique group competition aimed at developing the creative and research potential of students aged 12-16 years.
The tournament participants are invited to solve 17 complex problems in the field of natural sciences, and then formulate their strategy to solve problems, begin to implement the solution, and, in the end, they must publicly submit the subsequent procedure on this problem.
“The process looks like a doctor’s degree,” explains the representative of the Hellenic doctor at international competitions, Apostleus Mikhaludis, who accompanied children to Kazakhstan.
And he adds: “The process of preliminary training is respected. Children are designed to find solutions to 17 problems, scientifically substantiate the solutions in which they find themselves in order to realize their solution at a practical level and, in the end, publicly inform the whole work of the public. ”
And the general presence of students is not only based on the work that they will do.
At the presentation, students of competing groups act as judges, they try to ask questions that represent solutions to problems.
In addition, in preparation for all 17 problems begins in September, when the children are on stage, their opponents can ask students about any problems. That is, although they are ready, they do not know why they will be asked.
The final assessment comes from how complete they will be when they will answer, and how significant their questions are when they act as judges.
“They are evaluated for their general work, for their general presence, they do not just write any competition,” says Mr. Mikhaludis.
Each year, national finals are held in many European countries and in other places, and then, if countries want to participate in an international tournament.
In 2025, 12 teams from 5 countries, Kazakhstan, Russia, Greece, Georgia, Pakistan were confirmed in the tournament.
Absolute winners
The paradox -team managed to scan rewards. For the first time since 2019, when Greece began to participate in this international tournament, the Greek team manages to become the best winner of the event.
The group consists of students of the 1st model gel of Thessalonika “Manolis Andronikos”: Stefanos Kirina, Nestoras Gialidis, Harisio Massuras, Angel Nicholas Aliasis, a student of the Lyceum onesis Xantiu, Michal, their coach was a Phivos Buzina.
“We are proud of the success of children, but mainly because thanks to this process, students can highlight a series of skills that they acquire during their long -standing training,” Mikhaludis said.
In those years when he participated in such competitions, he saw children who had a phobia to appear in front of the audience to “flower” and managed to confront his peers from all over Europe. In addition, students participating in the support of the Union of Greek physicists in international events tend to study and career in large universities abroad.
