The armies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are carrying out the second ten-day joint exercise in a month “Dagger-2024”, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports. The maneuvers will take place in a mountain range in the Djizakh region.
“Joint special tactical exercises between the servicemen of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan began in the Forish mountain range of the Central Military District.” – says the department information.
During the exercises, the military of the two countries will practice shooting techniques with various types of weapons, as well as combat skills in a simulated populated area.
At the beginning of October, joint Kazakh-Uzbek exercises “Cooperation 2024” were also held at the Forish training ground to repel the conditional gangs that had entered the territory of Uzbekistan.
In recent years, Tashkent and Astana have intensified cooperation in the military-technical field (MTC). In February 2018, the intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation, signed in September 2017, came into force. In November 2019, the defense ministries of the two countries signed a new cooperation plan. The signed document includes activities within the framework of joint operational and combat training of troops and in the field of military education.
