Kazakhstan has banned the export of semi-finished iron products from the country. The corresponding order was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the republic, the department’s press service reports.
“Introduce a ban for a period of six months on the export from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by all types of transportation of iron and non-alloy steel in ingots or other primary forms (except iron of basic heading 7203), semi-finished iron or non-alloy steel products. – says the document.
The Ministry of Industry and Construction added that this measure was taken to stimulate domestic metallurgical companies to expand the steel industry with the production of finished products of the middle and higher stages with high added value.
The order takes effect on December 1, 2024.
