Kazakh farmers have increased grain exports. This was reported by the government of the republic in reference to the national company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ, Kazakhstan Railways).
According to published information, exports of corn grains in 2024 compared to last year increased by 1.5 times and amounted to 117 thousand tons. Supplies to Tajikistan (38%) and Uzbekistan (more than three times) increased. Also this year, Kazakhstan began exporting corn grain to Iran.
Additionally, according to KTZ, Iran has resumed imports of Kazakh barley, increasing eight-fold in the past two months.
“In 10 months, barley export transportation amounted to 710 thousand tons, with an increase of 69%.” — KTZ reports.
Lentil exports increased sevenfold, up to 80,000 tons. However, most of it comes from European countries.
The transport of peas also increased. Imports of this crop from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan have doubled and to Uzbekistan they have tripled.
Rice producers also increased exports by 47%, or 52 thousand tons, including to the new markets of Azerbaijan and Belarus.
In addition, Kazakhstan plans to significantly increase the export of oils and fatty products to China, up to $250 million.
