Kazakhstan intends to tighten migration rules

Kazakh authorities plan to strengthen administrative responsibility for illegal registration and simplify rules for deporting foreigners who violate local migration laws.

Oku.Az This statement was made by Aslan Atalikov, Chairman of the Migration Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.

According to him, the leadership of the republic intends to prepare a new package of amendments aimed at strengthening migration control. In particular, it is planned to re-establish the institution for registering foreigners who wish to stay in Kazakhstan for more than 30 days. At the same time, he clarified that tourists whose stay in the country does not exceed 30 days will not be affected by these innovations.

“Amendments are being prepared to strengthen administrative liability in case of illegal registration,” Atalıkov said.

He added that a new deportation institution will be created in Kazakhstan for those who violate immigration laws. According to him, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan considers the current procedure for the expulsion of foreigners from the country to be complicated. The new rules are designed to speed up the expulsion of flagrant and persistent violators of immigration law.
