Kentucky gunman in shooting that left five people seriously injured

The police are looking for near Lexington, in northern Kentucky to a 32-year-old man “armed and dangerous” who shot “numerous people” on a highway this Saturday.

According to police in London, the city closest to the shooting scene, the suspect in the shooting is a man identified as Joseph A. Couch, who He fled in a blue Ford truck with a silver roof, according to local media Lex 18 News.

Authorities asked the public to call a hotline with any tips about Couch. For unknown reasons, the suspected assailant began shooting late in the afternoon from a wooded area or overpass at vehicles traveling on Interstate 75 near Exit 49.

Kentucky State Police told the local Courier Journal that The attack left “between four and six victims”, but it is not known whether there were deaths or only injuries. The only image from the scene shows a series of cars passing or stopped in the middle of a highway with their doors open, a scene that appears to indicate they were abandoned in a hurry.

Local police closed the stretch of highway and diverted traffic, while authorities issued several appeals to avoid the area, and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear asked on his X account to “pray for everyone involved.”

Later, while attending a dinner, the Democratic Party issued a statement saying Americans should not live in fear of being shot while crossing a bridge. “We have to do better,” he said, referring to controversial gun control, an issue that Republicans and some Democrats oppose because they consider gun ownership a fundamental constitutional right.
