In an interview with the conservative journalist of the United States Taker Carlson, who was aired on Monday (7/7/2025), Pesyshkian accused Netanyahu of encouraging the story long before he became the prime minister in 1996.
“Since 1984, Netanyahu has created a false mentality that Iran has been trying to make a nuclear bomb,” he said, referring to the role of Netanyahu as an Israeli envoy for the United Nations at that time.

“Since then, he has been instilled in the minds of every US president … (what) we want to have a nuclear bomb,” he continued, emphasizing that Iran had never developed such a weapon.
