Some 30 government officials have been executed for their negligence in preventing the flood catastrophe in North Korea. This was done on the orders of DPRK leader Kim Jong-un.

However, the identity of those officials has not been revealed.
It should be noted that since July 27, flooding has occurred in North Korea near the border with China due to heavy rains. An operation supported by army helicopters rescued about five thousand people who were left without help. North Korean leaders announced that there were no casualties in the disaster. Nevertheless, 4,100 houses and 3,000 hectares of farmland were flooded.
The country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, blamed officials who failed to take preventive measures after the disaster.
“Relevant state institutions have been warned many times before catastrophes such as heavy rains, floods and storms, but work aimed at preventing catastrophes caused by natural disasters has not been given due importance. The laziness and speculation of officials in important positions have reached a very serious level,” he said. He harshly criticized the officials.
Kim criticized disaster management agencies for requiring military rescue operations and ordered punishment for government officials who are negligent and fail to perform their duties responsibly.
