North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the nuclear weapons institute and the base for the production of nuclear material for nuclear weapons, during which he became familiar with the production of nuclear charges and the current production of nuclear material, the DPRK Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) reports.

According to the agency, during a visit to the control centre of the uranium enrichment base, Kim Che-un learned about the production processes. He also asked to increase the number and introduce new centrifuges for nuclear fuel.

According to KCNA, Kim Jong-un inspected the construction site of the facility, where work is being carried out to “expand the existing production capacity of nuclear weapons,” and also “familiarized himself with the plan for installing equipment.”

The North Korean leader also visited the training base of the Special Operations Forces of the Korean People’s Army on September 11, KCNA added.

“Kim Jong-un toured several facilities at the training base to learn more about the situation. He… observed reconnaissance and attack exercises conducted by the military in accordance with its training program.” – the agency adds.
