King Felipe VI to preside over inauguration of national university course in Zaragoza

The King will preside over the start of the new national university course at the University of Zaragoza on September 23. The event and the presence of Felipe VI coincide with the commemoration of the 550th anniversary of the granting of the papal bull, which gave rise to the creation of the famous university entity. Thus, the University of Zaragoza is the fifth oldest in Spain. The inauguration of this new academic year It will take place in the Paraninfo buildingwhich has 130 years of history within its walls.

This inauguration of the national course is celebrated almost twenty days after the start of classes at the Aragonese Academic Center. The University of Zaragoza has started a new academic year with 92% of new entrance spaces coveredwhich equates to more than 6,100 new students. Nearly 32,000 enrolled students have started taking courses in one of the degrees offered by the university institution.

This year the offer has been expanded with the incorporation of new degrees such as Biomedical Engineering with 60 places per course, as well as the launch of the complete offer of Medicine on the Huesca campus.

The Monarch thus extends his presence in Zaragoza so far last year. On several occasions, the King has participated in official events at the General Military Academy, coinciding with the stay of Princess Leonor during the military course in the Army based in the Aragonese capital.
