“The refusal of the Armenian side to participate in the UN COP29 international climate summit held in Baku is a political move and there is nothing more behind this decision.”
This was said to Baku TV by Igor Korotchenko, director general of Russia’s Caspian Strategic Research Institute, commenting on Armenia’s refusal to participate in COP29.
He noted that Yerevan decided to ignore this forum when hundreds of top world leaders and large delegations came to Azerbaijan to negotiate and discuss the most important global issues.
“Within the framework of COP29, Armenia could, first of all, hold a series of bilateral meetings and intensify bilateral relations on the way to negotiations of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, and participate in the discussion of global climate problems that concern Armenia in general. Pashinyan’s election is, of course, his personal political decision, goes against Armenian interests and shows the stupidity and infantilism of Armenia’s modern political elite,” I added. Korotchenko.
