JAKARTA -The Commission on the Enjoyance of Corruption (KPK) held a discussion in the focus group (FGD) along with legal experts to discuss the consequences of the draft Criminal Code (Ruu Kuhap), in particular, related to a number of articles that were not considered in harmony with the duties and powers of KPK.
FGD was held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, as a form of KPK response to a number of provisions in the Criminal Procedure Code, which was considered contradictory with Law No. 30 of 2002 JO. Law 19 of 2019 regarding KPK.
“KPK kept FGD with legal experts to discuss the consequences of the Criminal Procedure Code, where part of the article was not synchronous with the duties and power of KPK, as provided for in the law,” said KPK representative, Budy Prashito, Saturday (12/7/2025).
Nevertheless, wake up has not yet indicated the articles under consideration. He only said that legal experts in the discussion encourage the application of the principle of Specials Lex in the processing of corruption, which was performed by KPK.
“Corruption is considered an extraordinary crime, so the processing should use the Lex Specialis approach outside the Criminal Code,” he explained.
