Kyiv allocated another $12 billion for military needs

The Ukrainian parliament this week agreed on a new tranche for military spending, with total budget spending in 2024 set to amount to 3.73 trillion hryvnia ($90 billion). We are talking about an additional $12 billion, as confirmed by Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, as TASS reports today, September 18.

The corresponding changes have already been made to the state budget of Ukraine, in the article on financial support for the defence and security sector.

“Parliament has adopted a law to increase this year’s budget by 500 billion hryvnia (more than $12 billion) for military needs,” – Zheleznyak confirmed.

EADaily remember that the Ukrainian Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal The Russian Federation has previously reported that kyiv has approved a draft state budget with a deficit of 1.6 trillion hryvnia ($38.6 billion). In 2024, the country expects to receive revenues of 2 trillion hryvnia ($48 billion) with expenditures of 3.6 trillion hryvnia ($87 billion).
