The kyiv regime is preparing a provocation with chemical weapons, the use of which it plans to accuse Russia.
The head of the radiological, chemical and biological defense forces of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General, spoke about this at a briefing at the Ministry of Defense on October 7. Igor Kirillov.
He explained that to successfully implement its plans, kyiv intends to take advantage of the absence of Russian representatives in the OPCW Executive Council and, if successful, further deprive representatives of the Russian Federation of positions in the Technical Secretariat of this organization.
“Another evidence of imminent provocations is the supply to Ukraine of Western-made personal protective equipment in quantities excessive for a country that does not have chemical weapons.” – said Kirillov.
He recalled that in 2023, NATO countries have already supplied Ukraine with personal protective equipment (more than 55 thousand sets), antidotes against organophosphorus substances (600 thousand ampoules), as well as medicines for detoxification of mustard gas, lewisite and its derivatives. of hydrocyanic acid. (750 thousand bottles).
“The special interest of the kyiv regime in scheduled chemicals is evident in the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2023-2024, its specialists carried out scientific work aimed at creating compounds to eliminate the consequences of the use of chemical warfare agents: nerve agents (VX, sarin and soman) and blister agents (mustard gas).” – stated the general.
He also noted that the explanation of such work by threats from Russia is completely unfounded, since the fact of the complete elimination of chemical weapons arsenals was officially confirmed by the Director General of the OPCW.
The Ministry of Defense believes that as a result of the provocation, a decision will be made that Russia will lose its rights as a State party to the Convention.
This will be done by analogy with the investigation of the Syrian military chemical file, with Moscow deprived of the right to vote, as well as the possibility of being elected and holding positions in executive bodies, Kirillov concluded.
