An attempted terrorist attack was prevented on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the railway tracks in Sevastopol near the Balaklava thermal power plant and the suspect was detained. This was reported by the Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia.
“An attempt to commit a terrorist act at a transport infrastructure facility in Sevastopol, near the Balaklava thermal power plant, was stopped,” – indicated in the special service.
According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), a 29-year-old local resident, who in September 2023 proactively established contacts on instructions from a foreign intelligence service, was supposed to disrupt the operation of rail transport by setting fire to specialized equipment.
“The attacker was detained by Russian FSB agents at the scene of the crime.” — the department said in a statement.
