“We are closely following Azerbaijan’s preparations for COP29 and we can confidently say that Baku is well prepared to host COP29.”
This was stated by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev in a statement to the American news agency “Report”.
“COP is a very important platform that discusses more climate issues and unites the international community. This COP is very important for us. Because we will look for solutions to climate problems in our country at COP29. That is why COP29 is more important for us.
As you know, Kyrgyzstan is a country rich in mountains. There are more than 11 thousand glaciers in our country. Most of these glaciers melted last year. The melting of glaciers causes landslides, which is more important for us to solve. At COP29, together with other brotherly countries – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey – we will organize a large exhibition, based on the experience gained there, we will save the climate and mountains of our country from trouble,” the minister said.
J. Kulubayev wished Azerbaijan success in its COP presidency.
