Kyrgyzstan expels the Taliban* (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) from the list of banned terrorist organizations, Sputnik Tajikistan reported, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic.
According to the agency, the supervisory authority of Kyrgyzstan has published a list of 20 extremist terrorist organizations whose activities are prohibited by the country’s courts. “Taliban”* is not among them.
The State Commission for Religious Affairs said they were not involved, but confirmed that the prosecution could draw on the experience of Kazakhstan, where the Taliban* They ceased to be considered terrorists in 2023.
“We have nothing to do with this. Now, given the latest changes in Afghanistan, the Taliban* may be removed from the list of terrorist organizations,” – the department explained.
