A pharmacy in a small town in Navarre found generational relief. This is one of the projects that the Minister of Industry and the Ecological and Digital Transition of Businesses, Mikel Irujo. Specifically, he visited two rural commerce projects in Abárzuza and Arizala (Yerri Valley) which continue their commitment to promoting local consumption in areas threatened with depopulation. The Director General of Commerce and Consumption, Pablo Ezcurra, also participated in the visit.
One of them is the municipal project ‘Deierriko Ostatua‘located in the former Arizala cooperative winery. A new space as the Yerri Valley Town Hall Ha rehabilitated with the aim that it is a multi-purpose municipal space.
Among other uses, this initiative is intended to be point of connection between consumers and producerspromoting the consumption of local products.
Councilor Irujo indicated that “we continue to do the work that corresponds to restore economic and social dynamism to rural areas of the regions. Keeping rural commerce alive contributes to the well-being of communities. To date, this initiative represents a great innovation in the Yerri Valley, where there was no commercial space to connect consumers and producers.
In Abárzuzathe advisor visited the establishment “The botika of flowers”, an example of generational change in a rural environmentmanaged since 2023 by pharmacist Elisabeth Sainz Fernández.
In this sense, the advisor emphasized that “This pharmacy serves the town of Abárzuzaas well as neighboring towns in the Yerri Valley, such as Lezáun, Guesalaz or Salinas de Oro, making it an essential service for the region.
Rural trade revitalization service
On this occasion the advisor and the general manager They were accompanied by Pilar Sánchez, sales technician at TEDER, belonging to the Navarre rural commerce revitalization network. The network, financed by the Government of Navarra to the tune of 190,000 euros, is a free advisory service offered to businesses in rural areas of the Foral Community.
Among other services, offers support to businesses during its creative process and in its first years of activity, personalized support and advice on topics such as digitalization, sustainability and public aid. Another of its tasks is collaboration with local entities in its areas of activity, offering advice on local commerce or information on regional subsidies.
