This distinction is added to differentiated quality brands under the banner Reyno Gourmet.
The regulation and recording of quality figures, such as Protected Designations of Origin (DOP) And Protected Geographical Indications (PGI)correspond to the European Union and require publication in the Official Journal to be effective. From this moment on, the Chistorra from Navarre must bear the logo of the Union of PGIs, thus protecting itself at European level against fraudulent use and certifying the product quality using the corresponding seal.
For Alberto Jimenez Mutiloapresident of the IGP Chistorra de Navarrathis recognition represents “the reward for the tenacity of the sector for a high quality product, with a rich tradition and considered a gastronomic jewel of our territory”. Furthermore, he emphasizes that the Chistorra from Navarre “It is a highly appreciated product both inside and outside Navarra and deeply rooted in the territory, being a source of development and employment in rural areas. »
