La Rueda del Cabriel triumphs at the prestigious World Cheese Awards with 6 prizes

The artisanal cheese factory La Rueda del Cabriel, located in Villamalea (Albacete), has once again distinguished itself in the prestigious World Cheese Awards 2024, organized in Viseu (Portugal)where he won a total of six medals.

The cheese factory, which competed alongside more than 4,700 cheeses from 47 countries, was rewarded with three gold medals for its Granizo, Lucero and Pétalos cheeses, a silver medal with Trébol and two bronzes with Moluengo and Caramelo.

Founded in 2014 by José Luis Abellán and MartaLa Rueda del Cabriel makes artisanal cheeses made from raw goat’s milk, from its own herd. These awards reward their commitment to quality, authenticity and the use of traditional techniques, which give their products a unique organoleptic profile, as reported in a press release.

With specialties such as Moluengo, characterized by its ashy rind and creamy texturethe cheese factory has consolidated its prestige on national and international markets, attracting cheese lovers looking for authentic and differentiated flavors.

“This recognition is a reflection of the effort and dedication we put into each cheese, from the care of our herd to the artisanal production,” he says. José Luis Abellán, master cheesemaker and founder of La Rueda del Cabriel.

Building on this success, Quesos La Rueda plans to continue exploring new varieties and flavorsin the hope of bringing the cheese experience to an even wider audience. “Our goal is to share the passion for cheese with everyone and to continue to be a reference in the production of dairy cheeses,” concludes José Luis Abellán.
