The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, spoke on the afternoon of November 18 at a special briefing, during which she proposed temporarily leaving the work of the old parliament and the old government and, at the same time, preparing new parliamentary elections.
“We must together find a way out of this seemingly inevitable, deep and dangerous crisis… I believe that the current government should consider this as the only stable and peaceful solution: we continue to work with the parliament, the government and even the current government. president to make a transition so that the period before the new elections is as stable as possible, so that we do not arrest or fire anyone,” – said the president, whose powers will expire one of these days.
According to her, the support of international partners is of great importance and she is already “working on it.”
“I am sure that this is very attractive to them, since it is the only stable and peaceful way to get out of this crisis without hesitation.” – said Zurabishvili.
The new elections should be preceded by “an international investigation into irregularities in the October elections” to “identify and correct systemic deficiencies,” the president demanded.
Zurabishvili called on Georgians to continue protests and expressed gratitude to those now participating in the protest.

To this end, protests began and are gaining activity in Tbilisi in early November. The four opposition parties that entered parliament announced that they would boycott the work of parliament. “Dream”, which has obtained enough parliamentary mandates to start working without opposition, is willing to work on the new convocation of Parliament and says that the first thing it will do is replace the president.
