Firouzabadi, former secretary general of Iran’s Supreme Council for Cyberspace, said the cyberattack was large-scale and affected several critical infrastructure facilities across the country. Cybersecurity teams are currently working to mitigate the consequences and assess the damage caused. However, it has not yet been established who is behind this attack.
These developments unfold against a backdrop of growing international instability surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, as well as growing momentum in Lebanon and current gas. Given the threat from Israel or the possible response to Iran’s actions, the defense could have serious consequences for the region.
The situation continues to worsen and Iranian authorities promise to strengthen security at hard sites to prevent any future attacks.
