“Being part” is more than just a useful phrase. The students of this Master, all university graduates, will understand and experience the pulse with which the journal of Pedro J. Ramirez in two ways: first, because the most teachers are journalists from the central editorial office; secondly, because the students will participate directly in EL ESPAÑOL publication of reports during the months on campus and later as trainee journalists.
The 24/25 course will be the second edition of the Master. The first was a success, since 35% of students remained active with contract to EL ESPAÑOL. The five selected are already part of sections of the newspaper such as Magas, Enclave ODS, Social Networks and the EL ESPAÑOL delegation of Andalusia.

The professors will all be active journalists, the vast majority members of the staff of Pedro J. Ramírez’s newspaper. The dual objective of the Master is to convert all those registered into useful journalists from day one, they set foot in an editorial office and also provide them with the necessary tools to facilitate their employment in an increasingly demanding job market.
Precisely because of market competition, the training proposal of EL ESPAÑOL is to carry out a master’s degree, so that students are trained in the practice of written journalism and audiovisual journalism, to make young professionals multimedia communicators.

The Master will last one year, from October 2024 to September 2025, with six months at the journalism workshop installed on the Castellana university campus in Madrid (at 4 Juan Hurtado de Mendoza street) and six months of paid internship in the editorial staff of EL ESPAÑOL.
To facilitate access to the Master’s degree, the two promoting companies have generated a progressive scholarship system to reduce the economic burden. If there is an exceptional case among the candidates for entry to the Master’s degree, this will also be studied economically in an exceptional manner.
The seven modules
This Master in Journalism attempted to combine quality, serious and documented journalism with today’s journalism, where the speed of transmission of news does not stop so that the information, reports, columns, articles d opinions, interviews, podcasts or video blogs are well constructed, with the necessary data and appropriate syntax.
The Master is divided into seven modules (In the editorial department, investigative and data journalism, multimedia journalism, radio and television, employability, internships and TFM).
The Master was born with the aim that new reporters learn to think in the style of journalists, develop their instinct to report everything that is useful and of social interest and endow their work with bites, approaches and headlines that awaken the curiosity of the public. . citizenship.
The teaching will be testimony, in the first person, based on experience. All teachers know that this profession is learned through practice and repetition (as defended by Antonio Nebrija, the father of Spanish grammar) and by example.
Knowledge and humility
“Dare to know” (the famous Latin expression Sapère aude) will be very present in the Master. Always starting from the exercise of the profession out of humility. Indeed, journalism is one of the professions most socially dependent on others. A journalist is nothing without a source and receiver of information.

A figure that only EL ESPAÑOL presents in its master’s degree is that of the mentor. During the six months on campus, each student will have a writing mentor of the newspaper that he will accompany on certain occasions to see how he works live.
Special guests will attend the Journalism Workshop, whose great professionalism has been demonstrated over the years. This course will reinforce content on international news and feature some of the best war correspondents.
Employability
What is very important for the Master is to promote employability.
