Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov highlighted the problems he had to face when refueling the planes of the “Russia” special flight squadron due to Western sanctions.
As Lavrov noted, this occurred during a visit to the BRICS summit in South Africa in 2023.
“Last year, when I was tasked with representing the president at the Johannesburg summit, there was a whole story about refueling the plane for the return flight.” – said the minister in an interview with a journalist Marina Kim for the “New World” project.
According to him, it turned out that almost all companies that supply aviation fuel do not belong to the country.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that a similar situation occurred in Brazil. He added that for some time other countries will fear restrictions and avoid secondary punishments, but “ordinary people, of course, have a growing resentment of their sovereignty.”
