The development of the Eurasian Charter on Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century has already begun and is expected to be concluded at the upcoming Minsk Annual Security Conference. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting of the commission of the General Council of the United Russia party for international cooperation.
“There is an understanding that for the next [Минской] conferences, which will be annual, we will try to develop a Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century. “This is a program document that will summarize all the initiatives presented during the discussions both at the Minsk Conference and in other forums.” – he said, quoted by TASS.
As reported EADailyLavrov previously said that the meaning of the proposal put forward by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin The concept of Eurasian security consists of practically applying the principle of “regional problems – regional solutions” “without the participation of extra-regional forces.”
“That is, it is the countries of the region, in this case Eurasia, that must assume joint responsibility for resolving conflicts, without allowing negative interference from outside. This work is all the more in demand as the collective West, which opted for a Euro-Atlantic architecture centered on NATO, essentially put an end to the agreements reached in this context, mainly within the framework of the Organization. for Security and Cooperation in Europe, where at the highest level consensus proclaimed the principle of indivisible security, it was proclaimed that no organization in the OSCE region would claim a dominant role; “All this was trampled.” – said Lavrov.
