Elections can be carried out in different ways, it is important that the process is carried out properly. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with journalist Marina Kim for the “New World” project, commenting on the information from the British Economist magazine that the presidential elections in Ukraine could take place as early as May. of 2025.
When asked whether possible elections in Ukraine will resolve the problem of the legitimacy of power and whether it will then be possible to negotiate with the country’s leadership, the minister noted the need for the corresponding process to be carried out and properly organized.
“I don’t know, elections can be organized in different ways, look, you see how the elections were organized in Moldova. We can judge the legitimacy of a particular electoral process only when we understand that it took place and see how it was organized.” — Lavrov stressed, TASS reports.
