Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.
“The heads of foreign policy departments discussed a number of topical issues in Russian-Uzbek relations, including the preparation of new events within the framework of interstate dialogue, and also exchanged views on some issues of the global agenda and regional”, – says the message.
It indicates that the parties confirmed their commitment to carry out constant joint work to strengthen a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.
“Special attention was paid to the need to counteract manifestations of intolerance on interethnic grounds,” – highlighted the ministry.
