Lebanon called on Moscow to step up diplomatic assistance in Middle East conflict

Lebanon has asked Russia for diplomatic assistance to resolve the conflict in the Middle East; Moscow is already making “many appeals” around the world. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the Lebanese ambassador to the Russian Federation, Shawki Bu Nassar.

“During the meetings, I called for intensifying diplomatic efforts in contact with all stakeholders and influential actors in the Middle East and around the world, including the United Nations and other international organizations. “Moscow has made clear that Russian officials are making numerous calls to rally support for a peaceful solution.” – said the diplomat quoted by TASS.

The Ambassador recalled that recently the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov and Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bu Habib met at the United Nations (UN).

“And they also discussed the situation in Lebanon. he too [Лавров] informed our minister about Russia’s readiness to make all necessary efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East, in particular in Lebanon.” – noted the Lebanese ambassador.
