León City Hall will allocate a total of 200,000 euros to help those affected by DANA, channeling this aid through the Red Cross and Cáritas Diocesana, with 100,000 euros for each organization.
The proposal was accepted by all political groups following the initiative of the mayor, José Antonio Diez, who stressed that this method will allow aid to reach victims directly and efficiently.
The contribution will soon be ratified during an extraordinary plenary session. The mayor stressed that this donation system aims to avoid duplication and ensure that aid is delivered urgently to those affected by the floods.
In addition, the City Council recommends that citizens of León who wish to collaborate send their donations through the Red Cross and Cáritas, already operational in the affected areas.
