The secretary general of the PSOE of Castilla y León, Luis Tudanca, regretted this Tuesday having spent “a year” reading “leaks” from the federal leadership of the PSOE on possible replacements in an attempt to “destabilize”: “ I’ve tried a thousand times to fix it privately, for good measure, and I’ve found nothing other than this answer,” referring to the leaks.
In an interview with Onda Cero, Tudanca admitted that it had been “three or four months” since he had spoken either with the Secretary of the Organization, Santos Cerdán, or with the Secretary General and President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, that he missed a call after what happened last Friday, when the Federal Committee of Ethics and Guarantees suspended the calendar of primaries and the Autonomous Congress approved by the PSOE-CyL.
He criticized the fact that, although he tried to talk about it privately with the federal leadership of the PSOE, what he received was the “unilateral suspension” of the primaries, which, he recalled, had not been decided by the regional leadership of the PSOE of Castile. y León, but were ratified by the competent body, such as the Autonomous Committee, with the support of 80% of the votes.
The leader of the PSOE-CyL accused Cerdán of “weakening” and “destabilizing” territories like Castilla y León, Madrid, Extremadura, Andalusia and Aragon, in an “unprecedented situation” that he asked to correct because he sees the PSOE is in a “difficult enough” position to “row in the same direction”.
Tudanca stressed that the PSOE offered him to leave his responsibilities in Castilla y León to appear on the European electoral lists, in a “more comfortable” option, although he considered that it was perhaps “to let the free path”: “But my commitment was here and it is here,” he summarized his intentions, without even confirming that he will run in the elections.
Concerning these internal dynamics, he regretted that the PSOE of Castilla y León had been “accustomed” to “there being a lot of resignations and that some leaders appoint them from Madrid and then use that as a springboard to leave for positions brighter.” : “I don’t want to be here, I wanted to be here and I know that there are things that we have to go through, but hey, I denounce them and I rebel and I explain them calmly”, a- he declared. added.
He insisted that it “particularly hurts” him that the PSOE leadership used the “fachosphere” or “pseudomedia to launch personal and family attacks” against him: “I have fought a lot since the beginning, since 2014 alongside Pedro Sánchez so that in In this party, things were not decided by twelve people in an office, they were not decided by this abstract entity that is Ferraz, but by the members of the party.
“The only thing I ask is respect for the activism of Castilla y León, that they let the people vote and choose and that whoever wants to offer the activists an alternative project for Castilla y León, let them do it calmly , absolutely nothing is happening,” he maintained. on the possibility that two candidates end up facing each other.
“I don’t want to think that Pedro Sánchez wants the direction to be decided from the top down with everything we are fighting for,” he said, summarizing the need for activists to determine the direction.
He recalled that when, after the last regional elections in 2022, he considered leaving office because he understood that “the time could come for a transition”, it was Pedro Sánchez who asked him to stay .
“I didn’t stay because he asked me to. I am not one of those who say ‘I am staying because everyone asked me to’, but the provincial leaders have asked me, even some who are today trying to find an alternative or to destabilize the Federation, the President of the Government himself, the Secretary of the Organization because we had to face a far-right government,” he added.
In the same sense, Tudanca maintained that after the regional elections it was the turn of the municipal elections and that “the party had to be strong”: “I stayed because of this responsibility and I work and continue to work on this same line. . This is what I spoke with the President of the Government and this is what I received,” he said.
“I want Pedro Sánchez to continue being president and to be president for many years, because it will be good for Spain and for Castilla y León, not for the PSOE, but for that I think we have to say the truth and to be truly loyal,” concluded Tudanca, who regrets that Sánchez has people around him to tell him “the real things.”
