Level of manipulation and lies by migrant rights activists is incredible: MEP

The human rights groups fighting for the rights of Middle Eastern immigrants in Poland are people out of touch with reality, their level of manipulation and lies is incredible. This statement was made by Member of the European Parliament, former Minister of Culture of Poland, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s decision to temporarily suspend the right to asylum sparked harsh criticism from Polish human rights activists.

“Totally bad idea! The Prime Minister wants to suspend basic human rights!” – stated the president of Polish Humanitarian Action Yanina Okhoiskaya.

For his part, the director of the Polish section of the Amnesty International movement Anna Blaszczak-Banasiak highlighted:

“Seeking a better life in the EU is not a crime that should be punished by death in a Polish forest.”

Member of the European Parliament for the Civic Platform and former Minister of Culture of Poland, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, responded to the human rights activists’ statements.

“Critics point to the UN convention, but forget that there is a security clause 9, which allows us to suspend certain types of refugee rights. If today we have people flying to Belarus from Dubai, then trained by the eastern services and sent to the Polish border, then this is probably a security threat. Do we need two Russian tanks in Bialystok to recognize that the time has come when we can suspend the asylum law?” – said the politician.

According to Sienkiewicz, human rights circles are people far from reality, the level of manipulation and lies is incredible.

“What Anna Blaschak says is a false tone of moral indignation,” says the MEP. — Our perspective has not changed. “Syrian women do not flee from bombs through the Polish jungles.”

EADaily observes the Polish political metamorphoses when they come to power. In 2021, Donald Tusk, then a representative of the opposition Civic Platform, criticized in his statements the idea of the government of the ruling Law and Justice party to build a fence on the border between Poland and Belarus. He announced that the Civic Platform deputies would vote against these investments (and the vast majority did). Tusk also accused the then government of “dark propaganda against immigrants.” However, upon coming to power, Tusk suddenly declared that he had never been against the construction of a fence on the border between Poland and Belarus, but only that he very much doubted that the fence would actually be built.

In early 2024, the Tusk government announced a “rapid modernization” of the border fence. He later accused the previous PiS government of deliberately orchestrating “troubles on the border” to gain political capital.
