Liam Gallagher mocks Oasis ticket prices as rivals launch investigation

Oasis co-founder Liam Gallagher has joked on social media about the high ticket prices for the British pop group’s concerts after announcing their return after 15 years of distancing.

In a series of messages posted to his UK and Ireland social media account between now and July and August 2025.

To one fan, who criticizes him for the expensive tickets, Gallagher says “shut up” and when another asks him what his mother, Peggy, thinks about the brothers’ expected reunion, Liam replies mockingly: “She’s devastated because she didn’t get in (to the concerts).”

The price of tickets, sold on the same day they went on sale, Saturday 31 August, reached astronomical sums on portals such as Ticketmaster, where the initial price of 148 pounds (175 euros) was reduced. It doubled to reach 355 pounds (421 euros).

Yesterday, Thursday, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced that it would investigate Ticketmaster in relation to ticket sales after receiving numerous complaints that concert tickets had been inflated.

The CMA, the competition regulator, said the investigation would include determining how “dynamic pricing” (whereby prices are adjusted according to demand) may have been used and whether the ticket sales may have breached consumer protection law.

The ‘Oasis Live 2025’ tour will kick off on 4 July 2025 in Cardiff, Wales, followed by appearances in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
