The leader of the Israel Our Home party, Avigdor Lieberman, asked the Government to reconsider its plans to cut the budget for the reconstruction of the south.
Lieberman wrote about this on his official Telegram channel.
The politician emphasized that the authorities plan to cut funding by more than one billion shekels to compensate for the growing budget deficit.
Instead, Lieberman proposed eliminating ministries and departments that do not play an important role, as well as reviewing the spending of coalition funds, considering them inappropriate.
“Let us not once again leave the people of the South at the mercy of fate,” wrote Avigdor Lieberman.
Recall that the leader of the Ha-Mahane Ha-Mamlakhti party, Benny Gantz, expressed his disagreement with the budget proposed by the ruling coalition and called it “political” in the context of hostilities. He noted that instead of the current focus on supporting the government, it is necessary to move to a more responsible budget that ensures the country’s security and strengthens the economy.
Gantz also stressed the importance of abolishing “unnecessary ministries” and called for the suspension of usual political initiatives, prioritizing winning the war. In his opinion, financial assistance should be aimed primarily at the needs of the military and evacuated residents of the northern and southern regions of the country.
The politician expressed concern that mobilizing Israeli citizens is becoming difficult as political interests continue to dominate government circles.
