Aemet maintains yellow alert in the region due to rain and storms
This morning’s lightning strike likely caused a power outage at a high-voltage pylon in Alcorconwhich is already being repaired, the municipal police reported on social networks.
Several neighbors alerted authorities when they saw sparks coming from a line on the high-voltage tower, so officials kept traffic on Colada de Pozuelo Avenue closed as a precaution until repairs were made.

The storms and heavy rains that have fallen in some parts of the region have not caused injuries or significant damage of any kind, emergency sources from the Community of Madrid told Europa Press. Aemet maintains the yellow warning until the end of the day.
However, there have been some minor incidents, such as this one in Móstoles or the one also registered in that same city, where firefighters and municipal police are working on Constitución Street to ensure damage to a building. They ask residents to avoid the area and follow safety instructions.
