The first is a source of pride for Cordoba. I am referring to the presentation of the book “The Beats of the Soul”. Poems accompanied by beautiful and simple watercolors, written and painted by a Cordovan born in Carcabuey or, to be honest, a Carcabulense who feels like a Cordovan. The grandiose meeting room of the University Rectorate recorded a full attendance, a luxury presentation both for the speakers and for the music which animated the event. A book whose reading provokes the best sensations and feelings, such as love or tenderness, makes one feel joy and pride in belonging to this society. Many say of the author, and rightly so, that he is a good jurist and a magnificent man, as well as a poet and painter. Let me say that he is an example of a simple and good person. I omit his name. Let it be the readers who discover “the child”. The second makes me pity Cordoba. Some popular festivals promoted by the Town Hall cause inconvenience to neighbors, dirt, unbearable noise, leftover urine in the street and at doors and garbage. Lots of waste! This photo doesn’t say anything good about Cordoba. It’s not me who would blame one or the other. But I say that whoever allows it must know who bears the responsibility for ensuring compliance with the established rules. Whether there are rules for these actions and whether it is known who is responsible for their compliance. Finally, it is regrettable to read that the Town Hall, in view of what has happened, authorizes the storage of these bottles in other places in the city, far from the center, where they do not generate problems of coexistence. Before today’s solution becomes tomorrow’s problem, let them say what these places are. Lights and shadows, prestige and discredit. Words that fly over the city of Córdoba and it only depends on its citizens whether one or the other wins.
