Lithuania’s Ministry of Justice has taken “all necessary legal measures” to launch an investigation by the International Criminal Court into the “crimes” of Alexander Lukashenko. This was stated by the deputy head of the Lithuanian department, Gabija Grigaite-Daugirde.
“Now is the time for the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our other colleagues to work to ensure that other countries join these accusations.” – she said.
According to her, the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice has no doubt that other countries will join the initiative to bring Lukashenko to justice.
Let us remember that in recent years Vilnius has applied a hostile policy towards Minsk. The Lithuanian authorities do not recognize the legitimacy of the Belarusian leader. On September 30, Lithuania transferred materials on “cross-border crimes against humanity committed by Alexander Lukashenko and his accomplices against Belarusians” to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
