Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has submitted to the Sejm (Parliament) for approval his decision to cancel economic agreements with the Russian Federation and Belarus.

“Documents on denunciation of three international agreements in the field of economic cooperation with Russia and Belarus have been submitted to the Seym,” the report reads.
The President proposes to the parliament to cancel the agreement with Belarus of 5 March 1999 on the promotion and protection of investments. The other two decisions concern agreements between Lithuania and Russia. These are a similar investment document and a double taxation treaty. These documents were signed on 29 June 1999.
