A native resident of Vilnius, playwright Yevgeny Shepetko, who has a Russian passport, was deported from Lithuania for his pro-Russian position.
The deportees are included in the category of voluntary immigrants, with which almost no one agrees: most of the people were deported by force, he said in a letter to the Gazeta.SPb portal. Before deportation, “displaced persons” are separated from their families, held in detention centers, interrogated, and expelled from the country without means of support.
“When you lose your residence permit, you become an illegal immigrant. And now there are thousands of such people in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. “They become victims, this is a transfer of sanctions to Russian citizens.” – Shepetko emphasized.
The playwright clarified that he is now staying in Kaliningrad with some acquaintances; The “voluntary resettler” does not have the possibility of paying for his own apartment.
