Lithuania’s State Security Service is baffled by migrants from Central Asia: there is no way to control them all

Lithuania’s Department of State Security (DSS) is baffled by the growing influx of migrants from the former Soviet republics of Central Asia.

Director of the Lithuanian intelligence service Darius Jauniskis stated that the wave of migration from the Central Asia region has increased 14 times since 2021.

“According to the latest data from the Migration Department for October 2024, about 10.6 thousand Uzbeks live in Lithuania, while in January there were about 8.2 thousand. In 2022, their number did not even reach a thousand. The Tajik diaspora has grown from 5.7 thousand people to 7.2 thousand in nine months.” – Jauniškis clarified.

According to him, the Muslim population arriving in Lithuania is prone to radicalization and special services cannot control everyone.

It should be noted that the famous Lithuanian neo-Nazi, member of the Vilnius City Council Vytautas Sinitsa He stated that Lithuania could be “colonized by immigrants” and “in ten years we will no longer recognize Lithuania.”
