It is for this reason that she has already announced that next year, the Citizen Security sector would strengthen support and monitoring of victims of gender violence, and also announced an investment of 150,000 euros in security policies. prevention of this scourge.

Jaime Martínez influenced his statements to the media, the maximum engagement of the municipal government of the PP with the victims of gender violence, and recalled that Palma is the only capital in Spain to offer a complete service to victims, from the collection of complaints, psychological treatment and follow-up.

In fact, the Town Hall is carrying out cross-disciplinary action in this matter which is articulated not only through the services of the Local Police, but also through the Equality Space, whose technical unit coordinates a series of specialized programs and resources for the care and protection of victims.

The Government Delegation of the Balearic Islands, for its part, highlighted this Friday its “firm and irrevocable commitment to the fight against gender violence, providing all the necessary resources for this purpose.”

In a statement the socialist delegate, Alfonso Rodriguez Badalexpressed his satisfaction with the rectification made by the mayor, specifying that the Local Police will continue to comply with established obligations in said protocol, in collaboration with the National Police.

The Government Delegation will continue, for its part, it is emphasized in the press release, to guarantee the security and protection of victims of gender violence by the State security forces and organs and through all the means necessary to this effect.

In this sense, remember that Palma Town Hall receives funding from the government of Spain for the implementation of the State Pact against Gender Violence, which in the last two years has exceeded 300,000 euros.

This is a sign of the Government’s commitment and its desire to maintain the current agreement in its same terms, so as not to deprive the victims of this scourge of any resources.

In the case of Palma City Hall, women victims served by these Equality Space services have at their disposal the offer of support to file a complaint.

Among the accommodation and support services intended for women victims of gender violence, as well as their dependent children, it is worth highlighting the Comprehensive Management Service for Gender-Based Violence (SAIVM)aimed at providing comprehensive outpatient care to affected women and children, as well as men who wish to change their behavior and stop engaging in violence.

The service is developed through three free programs, which also offer attention to the public in person and by telephone: care program for women affected by gender-based violence, care program for daughters and sons of women who have suffered violence sexists in the family environment and. a treatment program for men who want to build relationships free of gender-based violence.

Furthermore, the Town Hall has the Municipal Reception Service for Victims of Gender-Based Violence (SAMVVM), which offers temporary accommodation and comprehensive support to female victims, as well as their children. The objective is to offer a housing alternative to women who, due to the violence they have suffered, need a safe space where they can start a new life project. Training-employment promotions, psychological care and academic and leisure support are also offered.
