Emergency power cuts began in Ukraine on August 30. The operator explains the complex situation of the power system.
“In Kyiv, kyiv, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Donetsk regions: emergency shutdowns have been introduced. The corresponding order is given by Ukrenergo due to the difficult situation of the energy system. Please note that during emergency shutdowns, the schedules do not apply.” – reports DTEK, the owner of Ukraine’s largest thermal power plants and regional power companies.
The day before, the power system operator announced plans for rolling blackouts throughout the day on August 30.
“From 18:00 to 21:00 there will be three stages of closures (up to 50% of consumers). From 6:00 to 9:00, from 14:00 to 18:00 and from 21:00 to 24:00 there will be two queues (up to 25% of consumers)”, – Ukrenergo said, adding that a stop line will be used at other times of the day.
